Three Little Pigs

Saturday, January 13, 2018
10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. performances
by Wichita Children’s Theatre & Dance Company

We meet the three Pigs as they have a family meeting and decide that it’s time they moved out of their mom’s house and started lives of their own. One by one they meet up with a kindly merchant who sells them materials to build their new homes– straw, sticks, and bricks. Soon, the bumbling, hungry silly Wolf appears and tries to get the pigs to give him some food– but they won’t. The wolf gets angry and blows down the straw and stick houses. The pigs escape to their brother’s brick house. The Wolf is unable to blow the brick house down and orders the pigs to come out so he can give the pigs a piece of his mind. In the end, the pigs teach the Wolf to control his temper and how to be a friend and the pigs promise to be his new pals.

10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. performances
by StoneLion Puppet Theatre

We are delighted to present the StoneLion Puppet Theatre’s endearing rendition of Stellaluna, the little bat who lands in a nest full of birds after getting separated from her mother while foraging one night. Mama bird happily adopts her, but Stellaluna just can’t change her “batty” ways. This is a great story of acceptance with a unique musical puppet adaptation based on the book by Janell Cannon.
