Performances

Our performances are on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Shows last about one hour.

All shows will be held in Washburn University’s Andrew J. and Georgia Neese Gray Theatre. There is a downloadable map on the home page of our website.


Hansel & Gretel

by Washburn University Theatre

Washburn University Theatre’s production of Hansel and Gretel, by Moses Goldberg, involves “Il Staggioni,” a troupe of actors, performing a participation version of the well-loved fairy tale of siblings, a witch and the gingerbread house.


The Nutcracker

Have you ever dreamed that your toys came to life? Join Clara and her beloved toy Nutcracker as they bravely battle the Mouse King and journey through the magical Land of Sweets. Ballet Midwest is proud to present a shortened and narrated version of this classical ballet.


The Wizard of Oz

by Wichita Children’s Theatre & Dance Company

With the help of Glinda the Good Witch, Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion, Dorothy must defeat the Wicked Witch of the West to get back home to Kansas. This new adaptation, by Kevin M. Reese, is based on the original novel (not the MGM film). Audience members will
become part of the show as the Munchkins, poppies and others to help Dorothy find the Land of Oz down the Yellow Brick Road.


The Dinosaur Show

by Mesner Puppet Theater

No bones about it – The Dinosaur Show will tickle your funny fossil and stimulate your imagination. Mesner Puppet Theater brings the dinosaurs to life using hand, rod, shadow and body puppets. The play explains scientific facts of how dinosaurs became extinct and includes a few whimsical and improbable theories. We are honored to have Paul Mesner back to our stage for this special presentation of The Dinosaur Show, in memory of Nel Lindner Richmond.
